The Medical Experimental Center of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in March 2006. It is a public welfare traditional Chinese medicine research institution approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Compilation Office, and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has several key laboratories including the Beijing Key Laboratory for Preventing Major Diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Capital Science and Technology Conditions Platform Open Unit, the National Genome Science Data Center Traditional Chinese Medicine Sub-center, and the Hubei Key Laboratory for "Complex Effects Analysis of Traditional Chinese Medicine." The Intelligent Engineering Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine is affiliated with the Medical Experimental Center.

    Main Tasks: In response to the forefront of traditional Chinese medicine science and technology development and major issues in medical practice, establish a traditional Chinese medicine experimental technology support system based on large-scale scientific instruments and cutting-edge technologies, providing a modern experimental technology sharing platform for the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the industry; develop new technologies and methods suitable for traditional Chinese medicine research, offering methodological support for traditional Chinese medicine innovation; using modern scientific and technological means primarily, carry out traditional Chinese medicine research based on major projects, promoting innovation and development in traditional Chinese medicine science and technology.

    "1+3+2+X" development strategy: namely, 1 vision positioning, aiming to build a "highland for innovative technology application", "source of core technology", and "exporter of systematic solutions" for scientific experiments in traditional Chinese medicine; 3 key areas (medicine, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices); 2 development paths (academic innovation and achievement transformation); and X specific measures.

    Adhering to the concept of "openness, sharing, excellence, and innovation", we have established a large-scale instrument sharing platform, fully leveraging modern scientific and technological achievements. We have built a team for experimental research in traditional Chinese medicine, serving relevant enterprises, institutions, and universities both within and outside the industry. Keeping up with the forefront of modern technology, we have developed labeling technology and innovative units, striving for excellence in scientific research and pursuing innovation while maintaining our principles. We have 4 chief researchers, 1 key discipline leader of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 1 National Outstanding Youth. We have obtained 61 invention patents and software copyright registrations, received 7 awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, and have been selected for both the national and Beijing municipal intangible cultural heritage lists.

    Shared Experimental Platform: This includes a functional laboratory, a four diagnostic information research laboratory, a molecular biology laboratory, a cell and microbiology laboratory, an immunology laboratory, a microdialysis laboratory, a material analysis and detection laboratory, a morphology laboratory, and a bone and joint disease laboratory. As the operating institution of the "Capital Science and Technology Condition Platform - Research and Development Experimental Service Base of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences", and a national-level traditional Chinese medicine research institution issued a CMA certificate by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China, we actively provide external scientific research services. We have achieved the top rank in the field of traditional Chinese medicine for three consecutive years in the large-scale scientific research instrument sharing assessment organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance. In the 2024 large-scale instrument sharing assessment, we were awarded as excellent.
